Dea Loloci
I am an HCPC and BAAT registered Art Psychotherapist with experience supporting children, young people and adults. I trained at the University of Roehampton and currently work as a Lead Art Psychotherapist within a specialist NHS trauma service, alongside my work within an arts and mental health charity.
My approach is psychodynamic, trauma-informed and tailored to each person, with influences from my Jungian training at Roehampton. Where meaningful, our work might include exploring images, symbols, archetypes and dreams, alongside somatic and nature-based approaches. I am also trained in Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and Imagery Rescripting, which inform my work with trauma and distressing experiences.
Creativity is at the heart of my practice. Art can offer a way to explore feelings and experiences that may be difficult to put into words. My experience includes working in CAMHS, schools and community settings, as well as my current work with adults in a specialist trauma service. You don’t need any experience of art or need to think of yourself as creative to come to art therapy.
I also have experience working therapeutically with trainee and qualified arts therapists, including art and music therapists, and understand some of the particular emotional demands that can come with therapeutic training and practice.
At the heart of my practice is creating a compassionate, non-judgmental and culturally aware space where you can explore at your own pace. I welcome people from all backgrounds and identities, including LGBTQ+ clients, and value the different histories and stories we each carry. I believe art can help us connect with our roots, explore complex emotions and express parts of ourselves that words sometimes can’t reach. I speak English, Greek and Albanian and can offer therapy in these languages.
I offer in-person sessions in central Bristol, online and in green spaces/nature. If you’re considering therapy, you’re very welcome to get in touch even if you’re not yet sure what you would like to explore. I offer a free introductory consultation call where we can talk about what you’re looking for and whether working together feels right.
I am committed to making therapy accessible, so please feel welcome to contact me to discuss reduced-fee availability.
