Harriet O'Brien

I’m a psychotherapist in my fifth year of training. I offer a grounded, consistent and compassionate space where you can bring your inner world, lived experiences and anything that may be troubling you.

Therapy with me is a creative and collaborative process. Together we can be curious about your experiences and begin to give meaning to sometimes hidden or uncomfortable feelings. I believe that, when held in a supportive therapeutic relationship, this gentle uncovering can encourage a deeper connection to ourselves, others and to the wider world and community we belong to. Whatever your story holds, I am curious about how your experiences live in you and how we might work together to make sense of it.

The path we follow can be gentle, winding, challenging, unexpected and even joyful. I will be alongside you the whole way, following whatever pace feels right for you. I bring to my work nearly a decade of experience in public and voluntary organisations as a specialist outreach worker for vulnerable adults experiencing complex trauma and facing multiple disadvantages. This informs my particular interest in how we heal within a wider social context, where models of systemic power and oppression operate. I am consciously committed to anti-oppressive practice.

My fee is currently £45 per hour. Sessions are held weekly and are 50mins long.
